Paper Monkey Theatre proudly presents No Strings Attached 2025, a vibrant celebration of puppetry traditions and contemporary storytelling from across Asia. This year’s edition features an exciting line-up of master puppeteers, performances, and workshops that bridge cultures and generations.
From Taiwan, the renowned Jin Kwei Lo Puppetry Company (真快樂掌中劇團) brings the epic tale of The Crimson Boy (红孩儿), showcasing the rich artistry and theatricality of traditional hand puppetry. Joining from Indonesia, Sanggar Wayang Potehi Siauw Pek San (萧八仙) presents a unique potehi performance Mount Fiery (火焰山) in Bahasa Indonesia, blending Chinese heritage with local cultural flavours. Representing Singapore, Paper Monkey Theatre stages The Web of Deceit (盘丝洞), a dynamic interpretation of a classic tale, reimagined with creativity and flair.
Audiences will also have the chance to take part in hands-on workshops, from puppet-making to learning how to perform with potehi, offering an immersive experience into the magical world of puppetry.
No Strings Attached 2025 continues to be a platform where stories, traditions, and artistry connect, inspiring young and old alike through the universal language of puppetry.
