Long ago, in a rural village, farmers celebrated their harvest but forgot to thank the heavens for the favourable weather and bountiful year. Angered by their ingratitude, the Jade Emperor commanded the Dragon King not to send rain to the human world for three years! Moved by compassion, the kind-hearted Dragon Princess secretly lent a helping hand to the people. When the Jade Emperor found out, he was furious and sent heavenly soldiers to capture her. The villagers, wanting to repay her kindness, racked their brains for ways to rescue her. Can the Dragon Princess escape her fate? The Man Who Planted Trees 2025

To celebrate Singapore's 60th birthday, Paper Monkey Theatre presents The Man Who Planted Trees. The play was inspired by the timeless 1953 work The Man Who Planted Trees by French author Jean Giono. This imaginative and whimsical piece is designed for children aged 4 to 10, and pays tribute to Singapore’s founding father, Mr. Lee Kuan Yew, honouring his visionary leadership in transforming Singapore into a vibrant garden city.

In order to extinguish the flames and allow Tang San Zang, the White Dragon Horse, Sha Wujing, and Zhu Bajie to cross the mountain smoothly, Sun Wukong borrowed the Banana Leaf Fan from Iron Fan Princess, the mother of the Crimson Boy. However, due to her resentment over the incident with her son, Iron Fan Princess created numerous obstacles and even expelled Sun Wukong tens of thousands of miles away using her Banana Leaf Fan. Can Tang San Zang and his disciples overcome the blazing flame of Mt Fiery and continue their journey west?
